(Applies to all iStore inverters using the Hi-Solar monitoring app)

1. Check your WiFi signal strength

Stand next to your iStore inverter with your phone and make sure your home WiFi network appears in the available list.

If the WiFi signal in this area is weak or not visible, install a WiFi extender or use a wired Ethernet connection.

2. Install or open the Hi-Solar app

Before starting, make sure you have the Hi-Solar app installed on your phone.

You will use this app to connect directly to the inverter and update its WiFi settings.

3. Scan the QR code on the inverter

Open the Hi-Solar app and scan the QR code located on the side of the inverter.

This will establish a direct connection between your phone and the inverter.

4. Log in to the inverter

You will now be prompted to log in.

Select User from the drop-down list
Enter your user password (provided by your installer)
If no password has been set before:

  • The inverter will ask you to create one
  • Choose something simple and memorable (example: Solar123 or S123456)

Once logged in, you are now connected directly to the inverter and can access settings.

5. Open the Settings menu

Tap the Set button in the app.

Before proceeding, you will notice that the inverter is still producing power normally — only the internet connection is offline.

This is expected.

6. Open the Router Connection Settings

Navigate to:

Router Connection Settings → WiFi Network List

You will now configure the WiFi connection.

7. Select your home WiFi network

Tap the drop-down list and choose your home WiFi network.

Enter your WiFi password carefully — it must match exactly (case-sensitive).

Once the password is entered, tap Connect in the top-right corner.

8. Wait for confirmation

While it connects, the app will show a load/status screen.

You are looking for the message:

‘Connection Successful’

If you do not see this message:

  • The password may have been incorrect
  • Simply repeat the steps again
  • Sometimes it may take 1–2 attempts before the setting is accepted

Once successful:

  • The dongle light will turn green
  • The blinking will stop and change to a steady light

This confirms the inverter is now back online.

9. Verify data in the app

Go back to the Hi-Solar app home screen.

You should now see live data updating again.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Re-enter your WiFi password slowly and check for capitals or symbols
  • Ensure your phone is close enough to the inverter during setup
  • If the inverter fails to connect after several attempts, restart the inverter and repeat
  • Contact your installer if you cannot log in or if the password is unknown
